AFCCA participates in the MBSA Annual Meeting and receives a Certificate of Recognition
Mr. Ephraim Gwindingwi, the previous President of the Zimbabwe Construction Industry Federation (CIFOZ) and Vice-President of the African Federation of Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA) for the South African region, represented Eng. Hassan Abdelaziz, President of AFCCA, at the 2026 Annual Congress of Master Builders of South Africa (MBSA), held on 3 and 4 September 2026 in Zimbali, KwaZulu-Natal province, under the theme: “Building South Africa as a Gateway to Africa through Investment and Smart Infrastructure”.
The Congress provided an important platform to discuss issues related to investment, infrastructure development and the advancement of the construction sector, while strengthening cooperation between contractors’ associations and organisations in South Africa and across the African continent. It brought together several officials, decision-makers and leaders from the construction sector.
Mr. Ephraim Gwindingwi also participated as a speaker in a panel discussion entitled “Infrastructure Development Dialogue in Africa – Building Sustainable Infrastructure in Africa: What to Do and What Not to Do”. The session addressed a wide range of issues related to sustainable infrastructure development in Africa, including the importance of harmonizing regulatory frameworks, the role of good governance in supporting sustainable investment, and strengthening African cooperation in the field of infrastructure. It also examined the role of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in supporting the construction sector across the continent.
During the Congress, Master Builders of South Africa (MBSA) presented AFCCA with a Certificate of Recognition in appreciation of the Federation’s role and efforts in promoting cooperation among African contractors’ organizations, as well as strengthening professional exchanges and partnerships contributing to the development of the construction and infrastructure sectors across the continent. The certificate was received by Mr. Ephraim Gwindingwi on behalf of the AFCCA.
The participation of the AFCCA Vice-President for the South African region, representing the President of the Federation, as well as the recognition given to the AFCCA, testifies to the importance of the role played by the Federation in expanding cooperation and coordination among African entrepreneurs’ organisations, while fostering partnership opportunities and the exchange of expertise on a continental scale.
