Terms and Benefits of Affiliate Membership
- Affiliate membership is granted by the Federation to firms operating in the construction and building sector, including contracting and consultancy firms, and others.
- The affiliate member has the right to attend the General Assemblymeetings held at the Federation’s headquarters in Cairo, along with delegations from organizations, and contractors’ associations across African countries. Members may also participate on sidelines meetings with the International and National Financial Institutions related to the construction and building sector.
- The affiliate member is entitled to attend Executive Bureau meetings of the Federation, held in one of the member states. Travel and accommodation expenses are to be borne by the affiliate member representative.
- The affiliate member is allowed to attend and participate inmeetings, conferences, exhibitions, and field visits held both inside and outside the Arab Republic of Egypt, with the member representing the company bearing alltravel and accommodation expenses abroad.
- The affiliate member is allowed to present the company profile in the construction and building sector during Federation meetings (attended by heads of African contractors’ associations, representatives of major African contracting companies), on the sidelines of the General Assembly, Executive Bureau, and any other meetings held by the Federation, based on the agenda and time available.
- The Federation shall provide assistance to affiliated members, including promoting their activities through Federation channels, sharing invitations to participate in events specific to the construction and building sector in Africa, and facilitating coordination with African companies and institutions.
- The annual subscription fee for affiliate membership is USD 2,000 or the equivalent in Egypt pounds. Each affiliated member is granted a membership ID card and it is renewed annually upon payment of the subscription fee.
- Companies wishing to obtain affiliate membership should send a request via email to: general_secretariat@afcca.net, and apply to the Federation’s headquarters in Cairo, to complete the required membership procedures and subscription payment.
Rules for Joining as Full Members and Affiliates
- According to Article (4) of the Federation’s Statute, membership shall be the entitlement of any organization, authority, federation or association representing contractors or the contracting profession in any African country.
- The internal regulations set by the Executive Bureau determine the metho and procedures for admission to the Federation, membership fees, and annual subscription.
- According to Article (5), the General Assembly has the right to issue a resolution regarding granting membership to any African, regional or international entity, or specialized professional organizations operating in the field of construction. These bodies may join as affiliate members of the Federation.
- Applicants for membership must comply with Article (6) of the Federation’s Statute, as it states that Members of the Federation shall comply with the provisions of the statues, seek to achieve the objectives set forth therein, pursue the realization of the legitimate interests of its members, preserve the traditions and customs that ensure respect for the professionand prevent abuse thereof. They shall also respect and implement the decisions issued by the General Assembly or the Executive Bureau. They are also obliged to pay the annual membership fees on the due date as determined by the Federation.
