AFCCA Brings Together Regional and International Construction Leaders at a Side Meeting and Working Dinner on the Sidelines of CICA Meetings in Cairo

The African Federation for Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA), in cooperation with its partners, hosted a side meeting and working dinner in honor of the delegation of the World Construction Association (CICA), led by Mr. Juan Armando Vicuña, on the sidelines of the CICA Spring Meetings held in Cairo.

The gathering was attended by Mr. Ali Al-Sanafi, President of the Federation of Arab Contractors and President of the Iraqi Contractors Federation; Eng. Zakaria bin Abdul Rahman Al Abdul Qader, President of the Federation of Contractors in Islamic Countries; and Mr. Sharif Wehbi, Vice President of both the Arab and Islamic Federations and Secretary General of the Lebanese Public Works Contractors Syndicate. It was also attended by Eng. Dhari Barjas Al-Barjas, Board Member and Secretary General of the Kuwait Contractors Union, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Khamis, General Manager of the Kuwait Contractors Union, in addition to representatives of several leading Egyptian companies active in the construction and building materials sector, including Talaat Moustafa Group, Concord, Redcon, Conserv, Giza Power, and The Arab Contractors.

Discussions focused on exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation among the participating entities, with a view to strengthening the competitiveness of construction companies and building contractors’ capacities across African, Arab, and Islamic countries, as well as promoting the exchange of expertise and fostering integration among federations and professional organizations concerned with the construction sector.

Discussions also addressed the possibility of enhancing the representation of the participating regional federations within the Board of Directors of the World Construction Association (CICA), reflecting the importance of broadening regional participation within international frameworks related to the construction sector.

The meeting was organized within the framework of AFCCA’s commitment to expanding its regional and international partnerships and strengthening communication among the various stakeholders in the construction sector, in a manner that supports sustainable development efforts and reinforces the role of contractors in the implementation of infrastructure projects.
