Leaders of the Three Federations Participate in Their First CICA Board Meeting Following Their Official Accession
The leadership of the African Federation for Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA), the Federation of Arab Contractors (FAC), and the Federation of Contractors in Islamic Countries (FOCIC) participated in their first meeting of the Board of Directors of the World Construction Association (CICA), which was held on 2 July 2026, via video conference, following the three federations’ official accession to CICA through a shared seat on its Board of Directors.
The three federations were represented by Eng. Hassan Abdelaziz, President of AFCCA, Mr. Ali Al-Sanafee, President of FAC, and Eng. Zakaria Al Abdul Qader, President of FOCIC.
The meeting included the official welcoming of the new Board members, and a review of the World Construction Association key activities and its work plan for the coming period, alongside discussion of ways to strengthen the participation of the three federations in technical committees and international events and conferences, contributing to expanding areas of cooperation and the exchange of expertise at the global level.
The meeting also witnessed Mr. Ali Al-Sanafee formally beginning his duties in his new position as Vice President of the World Construction Association (CICA), following his appointment as representative of the joint seat of the three federations — a step that reflects the growing standing of the Arab, African, and Islamic federations within the CICA system, and strengthens their presence in shaping its future direction.
The leaderships of the three federations affirmed their commitment to joint action within the framework of CICA, in a way that strengthens integration between regional and international organizations and supports the development of the construction sector, while uniting efforts to defend the interests of contractors and enhance their presence in various international forums.
This meeting represents an important milestone in the course of cooperation between the three federations and CICA, as it lays the foundation for a new phase of institutional coordination and active participation in international initiatives aimed at supporting the construction industry and strengthening global partnerships.
