President of the African Federation for Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA) participates in CICA’s Autumn General Assembly Meeting in Paris



The Confederation of International Contractors’ Associations (CICA) held its Autumn General Assembly meeting on Thursday, 20 November 2025, in Paris, with broad participation from representatives of contractors’ federations and construction companies from around the world.The General Assembly saw an active participation by Eng. Hassan Abdelaziz, President of the African Federation for Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA), who took part in its meeting and exchanged views with CICA leaders on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in the coming period.
The CICA President Mr. Juan Armando Vicuña, presented the annual report during the meeting, followed by a review of the management activity report and the annual financial report.
The General Assembly’s programme also included presentations by CICA’s specialized working groups, which addressed key topics such as:
• Contracts and the role of multilateral development banks
• Long-term infrastructure financing
• well-prepared projects
• Construction 5.0
• safety and health
• Housings
The meeting further featured presentations from a number of international federations and bodies, including the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC), the Italian National Association of Building Constructors (ANCE), the Spanish Federation, as well as the Saudi Contractors Federation. In addition, FTI Consulting delivered a presentation on its latest activities.
CICA also announced that its Spring 2026 General Assembly will be held in Cairo on 29–30 April 2026. The planned activities for the same year were outlined, including visits to international financing institutions, the African Transport Forum, and a series of specialized seminars.
The meeting concluded with an open discussion, during which members were invited to present their concerns and proposals to further strengthen CICA’s by work programme for 2026
