AFCCA Visits Afreximbank Headquarters Site in Harare

On the sidelines of the 32nd Executive Bureau Meeting of the African Federation for Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA), which was held in Harare, Zimbabwe, a delegation of the Executive Bureau, headed by Eng. Hassan Abdelaziz, President of AFCCA, undertook a field visit on 1 April to the construction site of the new headquarters of African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).

The visit was also attended by H.E. Ambassador Mohand Ladjouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director General of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries (AFTAAC).

The delegation toured the ongoing works at the headquarters complex, including the hotel and conference facilities, which are being developed to support the Bank’s expanding operations and its role in promoting intra-African trade and investment.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the progress of construction, key technical aspects of the project, and its significance as a landmark development contributing to Zimbabwe’s infrastructure landscape and the broader objectives of economic integration across Africa.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for AFCCA members to gain firsthand insight into major infrastructure projects and to further strengthen engagement with key financial and development institutions across the continent.
