AFCCA, FAC and FOCIC Join the Global Construction Federation (CICA) Through a Shared Seat on the Board of Directors

In a strategic step reflecting the growing institutional integration between regional and international organizations operating in the construction sector, the African Federation for Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA), the Federation of Arab Contractors (FAC), and the Federation of Contractors in Islamic Countries (FOCIC) officially joined the Global Construction Federation (CICA) through a shared seat on its Board of Directors. This unprecedented arrangement reflects the international recognition of the important role played by the three federations in representing the construction industry and promoting international cooperation.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the 21st General Assembly of the African Federation for Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA), in the presence of representatives of professional organizations and development partners, reaffirming the commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation and enhancing the role of regional organizations within the global construction community.
Under this institutional arrangement, Mr. Ali Al-Sanafee, President of the Federation of Arab Contractors (FAC), will represent the three federations on the Board of Directors of the Global Construction Federation (CICA). He has also been appointed Vice President of the Global Construction Federation.
This milestone marks a significant step forward in the cooperation among the three federations. It strengthens their participation in shaping international policies and strategic directions related to the construction sector, while creating broader opportunities for knowledge exchange, coordination of common positions, and the development of international partnerships, ultimately serving the interests of their members, advancing the construction industry, and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals at both the regional and international levels.
