Zimbabwean Ambassador Discusses CIFOZ Assembly Preparations and Cooperation Opportunities in Smart City Project
As part of strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation, the Ambassador of Zimbabwe in Cairo Mr.Shebba Shumbayawonda received the President of the African Federation for Construction Contractors’ Associations (AFCCA) Eng.Hassan Abdel-Aziz and Amb. Hatem Tageldin the General Secretary of the Federation. The meeting reviewed the ongoing arrangements for the participation in the General Assembly meetings of the Zimbabwean Federation CIFOZ, scheduled to take place from 23 to 27 September.
Discussions also addressed prospects for future collaboration in light of the election the President of the Zimbabwean Federation (CIFOZ) as Vice President of AFCCA representing the Southern African region, a significant step towards deepening regional partnership and knowledge exchange in the construction and contracting sector.
The meeting further highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Zimbabwean Ministry of Housing and the Egyptian side, represented by the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD). The Zimbabwean side expressed keen interest in leveraging the expertise of Egyptian construction companies in building smart cities and developing modern infrastructure projects.
This meeting reflects the commitment to advancing African cooperation and underscores the vital role of partnerships and capacity building in contributing to urban development initiatives across the continent.
