The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is pleased to announce the Ninth Annual Babacar Ndiaye Lecture, scheduled for Friday, 17 October 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EST.
Held annually in honor of the late Dr. Babacar Ndiaye, former President of the African Development Bank, the Lecture celebrates his legacy and outstanding contribution to Africa’s economic transformation.
This year’s Lecture will be themed:
“Africa’s Capital for Development: The Imperative for Stronger African Financial Institutions amid Geo-economic Shifts.”
The discussion will highlight the critical role of African financial institutions in addressing emerging global economic challenges and driving sustainable growth across the continent.
The event will be hosted under the leadership of Professor Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank, who noted that the Lecture has become a flagship annual platform for engaging policymakers, financial leaders, and stakeholders on Africa’s strategic priorities.
